The Colorado Professional Beekeeping Association held its’ annual Fall Meeting this October 8th and 9th at the Springhill Suites in Longmont.
This was a in-person meeting with approximately 20 people in attendance.
The meeting commenced with a social and mixer at one of the local restaurants on the evening of October 8th The actual meeting was held the next day on Saturday from about 8:30 a.m to about 4:30 p.m.
The presentations were principally in a Round Table format with the various members and attendees discussing their beekeeping concerns and activities. All who attended expressed their appreciation for being able to see and converse in-person with the other members, most of whom were old beekeeping friends and colleagues. All of us enjoyed a delicious buffet meal of chicken and pasta along with a fresh salad bar with condiments, during the lunch break at noon.
Although the attendance at the meeting this year seemed subdued..most expressed their desire to have future CPBA meetings in-person as the CPBA has done since its inception; and as most of us have done for decades in our attendance to various beekeeping meetings. Most agreed that attendance at beekeeping meetings for most of us has been as much about the camaraderie and informal conversations between old friends as it has been about the formal presentations of the speakers; which this year was limited to CPBA members exclusively.
The CPBA is currently planning to have one or two ‘name beekeeping speakers’ presenting at our 2022 Fall Meeting next year.
Thanks to all who attended this year.
